Mission

The Global Soccer Fans Foundation (GSFF) — also known as the Global Soccer Fan Club (globalsoccerfc.org) — exists to celebrate more than just the beautiful game. We build bridges across cultures, generations, and communities through a shared love for soccer. With our hometown heroes at New York City Football Club (NYCFC) as our rallying point, we’re setting our sights on deeper engagement with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community — a vibrant, essential part of the fabric of this city and this country. Our long-term vision is grounded in the power of soccer to bring people together — from immigrants finding their footing in New York to fans connecting with loved ones back home. It’s about belonging. It’s about identity. It’s about joy.

At the same time, engaging the AAPI demographic is a strategic opportunity for NYCFC. According to the 2023 U.S. Census, the AAPI population in the United States is approximately 25 million, with a potentially larger number when accounting for undocumented individuals. Cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco represent prime markets for Major League Soccer (MLS) to expand its reach among AAPI fans. A 2022 Nielsen Report indicates that over 60% of Asian Americans express interest in sports, signaling a growing opportunity to convert this interest into fandom for NYCFC.

We believe NYCFC’s commitment to diversity, community outreach, and global fan engagement mirrors our own. Together, we have the opportunity to create something lasting — something rooted in local pride and global connection.

GSFF is ready — and excited — to partner with the New York City Football Club, located in the heart of the largest AAPI community on the East Coast, to write a new chapter in soccer fandom. One that is more inclusive, more joyful, and more connected. Let’s show what’s possible when we lead with heart!
